The Man Who Fell to Earth

AND is transforming Preston’s thriving covered market into a cinematic platform for Nicholas Roeg’s stunning sci-fi classic, The Man Who Fell To Earth. Focusing on an extraterrestrial (David Bowie) visiting Earth to get water for his drought stricken planet, Roeg’s meditative capturing of earthly pleasures, alienation and the
destructive pull of greed is an alluring yet dispiriting vision of the not too distant future.

  • The film is strictly an 18 Certificate so there will be ID check on entry
  • No Vans or large vechiles allowed

Abandon Normal Devices

Abandon Normal Devices

Across the Northwest Summer 2012

Manchester Festival 29 August - 02 September 2012

Abandon Normal Devices is a call to arms, a festival that questions the norm and champions a different approach.

A catalyst for production and experimentation, AND exists to create a space where artists and filmmakers can offer striking new perspectives, and visitors can enjoy, discuss and interact with ideas.

Every year we welcome audiences to experience the best in new cinema and digital culture, in an experience that spills from the screens and galleries into the streets and imaginations of the Northwest

For details of the full AND 2012 programme go to http://www.andfestival.org.uk

Abandon Normal Devices (AND) is an energetic regional festival of new cinema and digital culture. A unique partnership between FACT, Cornerhouse and folly, the festival was launched in Liverpool in 2009. In subsequent years it has alternated between Liverpool and Manchester with an extended regional programme across Cheshire, Cumbria and Lancashire.

Abandon Normal Devices is a 2012 inspired festival, funded by Legacy Trust UK and part of WE PLAY, the Northwest cultural legacy programme for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
